Aluminum Phosphide van der Waals Bilayers with Tunable Optoelectronic Properties under Biaxial Strain

The electronic and optical properties of three types aluminum phosphide bilayers are examined using density functional theory. results indicate that they all possess proper direct gaps, which exhibit a rich variety behaviors depending on the strain. band gaps these could be easily tuned in energy range from 0 eV to 1.9 under wide biaxial Additionally, gap transitions between indirect found when external strain applied them is changed −12% 12%. In addition, it was AlP show strong light-harvesting ability for ultraviolet light solar spectrum (400–100 nm). obtained here may have significant potential applications future nanoelectric fields.
